ProductNew album by rock-band "Chaif"
DescriptionCover art features certain objects of ‘Yesterday Generation’ imprinted into a concrete slab. The name of the band is made out of bent reinforcing bars.
Process of creating the cover was set out to be a massive performance featuring the band and artists from the agency. Concrete was poured into a 2.4m x 2.4m mold, and a gramophone, a radiogram, a turntable, a film camera, an electric guitar, and a bottle of wine were placed into concrete before it was set. Objects used for the cover are the embodiment of ‘Yesterday Generation’ that the musicians claim to belong to.

“Why rebars and concrete?” you ask. It was the only natural solution, as the authors of Chaif (Vladimir Shakhrin, Vladimir Begunov, and Oleg Reshetnikov) are alumni of the construction department of Sverdlovsk Institute of Technology. In addition, Chaif is rightfully known to be the procreator of Ural Rock, and the use of steel and concrete for album’s visuals ties in with the industrial image of Yekaterinburg.
