Each RedBull Flugtag is a huge media event. Why not turn it into an original self-promo tool?
Sure, bring it on!

Our kick-ass plan for Flugtag 2013

1. to get famous not only as a creative agency but also as cool aeronauts
2. to exercise our brain cells by an original brief and invent a wild idea that will pass the strictest selection of the jury
3. to test our production department with this ultimate challenge and create the champion aircraft
4. to fly!
5. to have fun
6 to get famous… ah, mentioned it already.

We're in the game!

So, out of more than 2500 teams who applied only 500 were selected to send their drafts. 200 most unusual out of them were short-listed and only 36 teams made it to actually compete. And BeeTL was one of them!

Our idea was simple, as all things genious. We played with the fact that the aircraft would inevitably land in the water. Let it be for a reason then! Let the BeeTL team wet the Mantoux test!
Mantoux Test - Tuberculosis skin test Mantoux which is completely non-wetting – THAT’S the TRICK! (in Russia this fact is generally known)

We engaged our own production facilities as well as professional aviation experts. Finally, the aircraft is ready, the pilot is dead nervous of anticipation, and here comes…

THE FLUGTAG

Strogino, Moscow a more than 100000-people audience, live TV broadcasts. Hundreds of media, TV, press - and the BeeTL team in the epicenter! While one of the team members tired to give the interviews, another one took his place. In between the interviews the team were preparing a spectacular pre-flight show, because the jury took into consideration not only the flight range and the creativity of the aircraft but also the performance itself.
The Mantoux test got really drenched that day!
All judges gave us 10 points. And the Silver Iron, the well-deserved prize for the 2nd place on the pedestal, goes to… BEETL!
That's the epic win!

Post-flight debriefing

Well, flights are a great thing but let's get down to business.
According to our most modest computations, the name of the team and the agency was mentioned in at least 50 video reports and central newscasts. It also appeared in more than 100 reviews and blogger posts.
Our beloved clients who didn't know we participated, saw us on TV and congratulated on the victory.
Result - a couple of unexpected brief and… national fame!

It was a unique chance to make the name of BeeTL known to the widest audience and to show what we're capable of - and we couldn't miss it. We got a ton of fondest memories, a yummy crazy case, the excited creatives and the proud production department. And certainly, also the new aeromodeling and aviation skills that we can now use in-house. We made use of a world-famous event for self promotion and are not planning to stop here.
